ABOUT US

Ken Campbell RN, NP-C, PKP

Senior Faculty, ICPKP

Ken Campbell is a passionate and charismatic teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience. He has taught classes for children of all ages, college students, adult learners, as well as licensed professionals (EMT’s, Paramedics, LMT’s, RN’s, MD’s, DC’s, etc. . .)

His “teaching settings” have ranged from fields, streams and woods of Outdoor Education centers, to indoor community education centers, as well as college and university classrooms. He has also facilitated professional clinical experiences and internships in ambulances, formal and makeshift clinics, and hospital Emergency Rooms.

Ken is a Nurse Practitioner who is licensed to practice both Family Health & Acute Care, and is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He has served as Clinical Associate Faculty for the Nurse Practitioner Programs at both Syracuse and Binghamton Universities. He has had over 25 years experience in Critical Care & Emergency Medicine and has many years experience as the sole medical provider in a rural Emergency Room.

He is certified as a Touch For Health instructor by the International College of Kinesiology, and is credentialed as full faculty with the ICPKP teaching both the 4 year diploma program as well as the full K-Power series.

Ken was attuned as a Reiki Master in 1987, and has used Reiki extensively in his professional career ever since.

For several years now Ken has a full-time private practice of kinesiology, working with a wide variety of clients, many referred in by other professionals. He works extensively with elite athletes, using kinesiology to both treat their injuries as well as improve their performance. His practice settings include everywhere from ambulances, hospitals, nursing homes, sporting events, and private settings across the USA, Canada, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

Over his many years of practice, Ken has assisted many people through the difficulties of physical illness and trauma, emotional distress, mental stress, and spiritual growth. His patients have spanned the full spectrum of human existence. He has personally assisted during the joy and stresses of childbirth... and to comfort those undergoing the very final transition of their life... and many, many other things in between.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

As a licensed professional health care provider, a Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse who has additional advanced education and clinical training. This advanced education and licensure allows them to expand their practice to provide routine medical care within the area of their specialty training. Nurse Practitioners bring with them many years of "hands-on" clinical nursing care before they can go on for their additional specialized study of allopathic medicine. Thus, NP's approach every patient with 2 philosophies of care: the patient-centered holistic model of nursing care, and the problem-focused medical model. Over 30 years of studies have shown that NP care is comparable to physician care, with a high level of patient satisfaction. A Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is trained to care for health conditions of any age, from prenatal care to childhood & adult health concerns, usually on an out-patient (in the office) basis. An Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) is trained to care for more complex, often critically ill, hospitalized patients.
